Recommended installation:

• Fixing system The fixing system must allow free expansion of the plate, therefore rigid fixings or through bolts are not recommended.

• Structure. A transversal support structure is required, which can be of any nature or geometry. In the modulation, the maximum dimensions of the sheet must be respected according to the profile and the loads to be supported.
• Bearing structure. The maximum spacing between purlins must be determined for each profile, depending on the load to be supported and the maximum allowable deflection. In any case, it can never be higher than 1.20 m.
• In case of large purlin spacings (greater than 1.20 m), intermediate supports should be placed.
• Dilatation of the plates. The thermal expansion coefficient of polycarbonate is significantly higher than that of structures and other plastic products, therefore, it is essential to provide systems that allow the free expansion of the sheets. It is necessary to drill holes with a diameter 3 mm larger than that of the screw.
• Plate length. Long sheets (greater than about 7 meters) accumulate longitudinal expansions of high absolute value and should therefore be avoided whenever possible.
• If larger spans are required, transverse overlaps of 150 to 250 mm are recommended, depending on the slope of the roof.
• Layout of the plates. The specially UV-protected side indicated is the one that should go outside. For in-situ sandwich roofs, it is recommended to always install the white-diffusing membrane on the exterior face and the colorless membrane on the interior face.
• Fixing of the plates. Polycarbonate profiles can be drilled using standard drills and bits. The profiles must be firmly fastened to avoid vibrations; special care must be taken to drill at right angles. The holes must always be drilled at a minimum distance of 50 mm from the edges of the sheet.
• Sealed. Neutral silicone should always be used. Under no circumstances may polyurethane foam be used.
• Solape. The longitudinal overlap is made in the opposite direction to the wind or rain direction. The transverse overlap should not be less than 200 mm above the beam. Each plate must protrude 100 mm from the fixing line of the beam.
• Safety Do not step directly on the plate. The slabs are not passable.
