PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The natural wood roof sandwich panel with fir frieze combines thermal insulation with an exposed interior face of authentic natural wood. The technical configuration in this data sheet includes a 10 mm fir frieze, insulating core and moisture-resistant top board.
It is a solution especially suited for roofs and ceilings where the wood is to be left exposed on the inside, such as homes, porches, attics, renovations, wine cellars and buildings with a warm interior finish.
The available composition includes a 16 or 19 mm moisture-resistant chipboard top board, extruded polystyrene, expanded polystyrene or rock wool core, and a 10 mm natural fir frieze exposed face.
| Element | Configuration |
|---|---|
| Top face | 16 or 19 mm moisture-resistant chipboard |
| Insulating core | Extruded polystyrene, expanded polystyrene or rock wool |
| Exposed interior face | 10 mm natural fir frieze |
| Nominal width | 600 mm |
| Top face width | 598 mm |
The main aesthetic advantage of the natural wood roof sandwich panel is that the interior face is finished with authentic fir frieze, avoiding the need to add a decorative interior cladding afterwards.
The wood can be supplied in natural, colourless form or treated with different water-based varnishes, colour tones and stripped finishes. As it is natural wood, grain, knots and tonal variations are part of the product’s natural appearance.
When the visual finish is a decisive factor, it is advisable to check a real sample of the selected tone or treatment beforehand.
The natural wood roof sandwich panel must be supported on a correctly dimensioned structure and fixed according to the construction solution planned for the roof.
The technical data sheet publishes specific support spacings for different panel lengths. These values serve as mechanical reference for the tested configuration and must be verified when the number of supports, core, thickness or actual project loads change.
| Panel size | Indicated support spacing |
|---|---|
| 2490 × 600 mm | 620 – 830 – 1245 mm |
| 2990 × 600 mm | 745 – 990 – 1495 mm |
| 3290 × 600 mm | 822 – 1010 – 1645 mm |
| 3590 × 600 mm | 718 – 898 – 1197 – 1795 mm |
The published loads are considered design loads, and material safety is introduced according to DB SE-M.

Important: loads are to be understood as design loads. The solution must be verified for each project, especially when spans, number of supports, core or composition change.

QUESTIONS
It is a prefabricated insulating panel for roofs or ceilings that features an exposed interior face of natural wood. This reference uses a 10 mm fir frieze, insulating core and moisture-resistant top board.
It is authentic natural fir wood. It is not a painted metal sheet with a wood effect.
The documentation includes extruded polystyrene, expanded polystyrene and rock wool. The thermal performance published in the table corresponds to XPS.
The data sheet declares 32.7 dBA of airborne sound insulation and Rw (C, Ctr) = 33 (-1,-3).
The documented standard configuration is classified as E.
Yes. The documentation shows different water-based varnishes, colour tones and stripped finishes. As it is natural wood, there may be variations in grain and tone.
