Description: 3017 – Top Coping Flashing

The 3017 is a top coping flashing for façade sandwich panels. It covers the top of walls and parapets. It protects the top of the wall or panel from rain, and its legs run down both faces so water cannot get into the joint.

It is made in the same colours as the façade panel, so the flashing blends in with the cladding.

How to install it

  1. Check that the top of the wall is clean and level; if needed, fit a support batten.
  2. Place the coping centred on the wall, with the legs running down both faces.
  3. Overlap the pieces by about 10 cm and seal the overlap with a bead of sealant or with butyl tape.
  4. Fix the legs with flashing screws if the wall is panel or sheet metal, or with plugs and screws if it is masonry, every 30–50 cm.

Installation tips

  • Give it a slight fall towards the roof side so the water does not stain the façade.
  • Measure the total width of the wall including finishes: if it does not match the standard coping, we make it to measure.
  • Cut the sheet with snips or a fine-tooth saw, never with an angle grinder: the sparks burn the paint and the sheet ends up rusting.

How many pieces do you need?

Measure the total length of the joint you need to cover, in metres. Each piece is 3 m long and overlaps the next one by about 10 cm, so it covers about 2.9 m. Divide the length by 2.9 and round up. For example, for 12 m you need 12 ÷ 2.9 = 4.1, that is, 5 pieces.

Made-to-measure flashings

If your project needs a different girth, another colour or a special fold, we make the flashing to measure. Send us a sketch with the dimensions and we will prepare a quote.

Frequently asked questions

Can it be made for a wider wall?

Yes. We make the coping to fit your wall; we only need the total width and the height of the legs.

Is it suitable for masonry walls and panel walls?

Yes. Only the fixing changes: plugs and screws in masonry, and flashing screws in sandwich panel or sheet metal.
