Sandwich panels (also referred to as sandwich sheets, sandwich plates, or sandwich-type panels) consist of two steel sheets bonded by an insulating core of polyurethane (PUR), PIR, or rock wool. They enclose and insulate roofs, ceilings, and facades for industrial buildings, homes, farms, and cold rooms in a single component. When the project requires it, we assess installation for new constructions, refurbishment, and replacement of roofs and facades, including auxiliary equipment and unloading planning. The removal of asbestos-containing materials is carried out using the appropriate procedures and authorized agents.

What type of sandwich panel do I need for my project?
It depends on the application. For roofs, the roof panel (3-rib, 5-rib or overlap) or the tile-effect panel; for walls, the facade panel; for cold rooms, the cold-room panel; for farms, the agropanel; and if fire requirements exist, the rock wool panel. We compare them in types of sandwich panels.
What is the price of sandwich panels per m²?
As a reference, the facade panel with visible fixing ranges from approximately €16 to €29/m², the overlap roof panel from €19 to €36/m², the tile-effect panel from €25 to €42/m², and the cold-room panel from €28 to €55/m², depending on thickness and finish. What are the disadvantages of sandwich panels?
If well chosen and properly installed, there are few: the sheet can dent with a hard impact, rain noise is more noticeable than under a heavy roof (except with rock wool), and not everyone likes the look. Is it forbidden to install sandwich panels in Spain?
No. It is a legal material with CE marking. You need a building permit from the local council and, in historic centres or protected areas, comply with their bylaws, which sometimes require a tile appearance: that’s what the tile-effect panel is for.
What goes underneath a sandwich panel?
Only the purlin structure, steel or timber. The panel already includes the insulation and the inner sheet, so it doesn’t need decking or insulation underneath. See the structure guide for sandwich panels.
How many years does a sandwich panel roof last?
If properly installed and with minimal maintenance, it lasts for decades. What shortens its life most is poorly placed screws and flashings. You’ll find the details in how long a sandwich panel lasts.
How much does a sandwich panel weigh?
Very little: the 3-rib roof panel weighs from 7.7 kg/m² (30 mm) to 11.1 kg/m² (100 mm). A 6-meter panel with 1 m useful width and 30 mm thickness weighs about 46 kg, and a 50 mm one weighs about 51–55 kg. This is why it does not require a heavy structure.
Do you ship sandwich panels throughout Spain?
Yes. We ship throughout Spain and Portugal; to Portugal, it takes about 3 to 4 weeks. Transport is quoted separately and depends on lengths, quantity, destination, and how it is unloaded on site.
Do you also carry out the installation?
Yes, in Catalonia and nearby provinces, with an indicative price of €18 to €25/m² depending on the project. Outside this area, we supply the material. More information on sandwich panel installation.
What is the difference between PIR/polyurethane and rock wool?
PIR and polyurethane (PUR) insulate more with less thickness and weigh less. Rock wool does not burn (A2-s1,d0), withstands up to EI 240 on facades, and provides better noise insulation, but it requires greater thickness to achieve the same insulation. It is used when the project requires fire resistance. We explain this in which panel core to choose.
